Dell's Newest PC

Everyone who knows a thing or two about computers knows there's never a right time to buy one. Just when you think you're the coolest guy in the world because you've got the latest innovation in PCs, the personal computer powers-that-be would launch another model that would make you want to pop every single bubble in the bubble wrap still draped around your just-delivered, oh-so-last week PC.
Just like the way Dell Inc. launched new personal computers last week.
Dell Inc., which garnered the top spot in Fortune Magazine's list of the most admired companies in 2005, recently unveiled several new entertainment-oriented personal computers, including my favorite, the XPS M2010.
One of the more fascinating things about the XPS M2010 is that its sleek and unique design allows it to be semi-portable, with hinges supporting the display doubling as handles. Its features would make any PC geek's mouth water: an adjustable 20.1-inch widescreen display, a Bluetooth keyboard that's full-sized, detachable, and equipped with gyroscope-enabled remote, a slot-loading DVD drive, an integrated 1.3Mp Webcam and eight, not four, not five, powerful speakers with a sub woofer.
All of that, however, is simply icing on its really formidable cake. Up to 4GB of dual channel DDR2 memory and Intel Core Duo processors will be powering the XPS M2010. As for graphics, its ATI 256 Mobility Radeon X1800 graphics controller will take care of that.
But before relegating your current PC to the garage and rushing off to the nearest store, you might want to check out its price first. At $3500, the XPS M2010 is simply too expensive. And although it's touted to be portable, its 18-pound weight would make anybody (except maybe for powerlifters) think twice about lugging it around.
Nevertheless, the XPS M2010 is a remarkable feat of engineering, that's for sure.
